In yesterday’s “News roundup” I mentioned the Menu Foods pet food recall. Turns out some Iams and Eukanuba foods are also affected. See the Iams press release here.

Also, here are direct links to the affected brands of cat food and dog food (the Menu Foods Web site seems to be functioning better this morning).

Nine cats and one dog have died from kidney failure after eating the affected food. Still no word on what is causing the problem.

Further update: Purina is now recalling pouches of its Mighty Dog brand dog food. As with the Iams/Eukanuba recall, this one is not included in Menu Foods lists of affected brands.

Further, further update: Hills has recalled a number of its canned cat foods that are “co-manufactured” with Menu Foods.
